«В лето 6660 Юрьи Володимеричь Переяславль переведе от Клещина и заложи град велик (созда болши старого) и церковь постави Святого Спаса в Переяславле». То есть в 1152 году великий князь Киевский Юрий Долгорукий перенес город от древнейшего городка Клещин на нынешнее место и поставил собор, который на снимке спереди.

Here's a shot of central part of ancient town Pereslavl-Zalessky, which means "Pereslavl behind the Forests". It was inhabited since prehistoric times, but first time was mentioned in chronicles in 1152, when Prince Yury the Long Hands built a city and cathedral (seen at the front of the photo) here.
At the back are two churches constructed in XVII century, together with cathedral they border the square in the center of the town.

What a beautiful sight! These building really are worth seeing! The concentration of these churches is remarkable. The sky, well we often cannot change it into a blue one ... ;-)
