Photographer’s Note
Here are photo of old houses (most certainly built in the beginning of XX century or so) in Rostov, with the Rostov Kremlin over them. What catch my attention here were the brand-new plastic framing for windows (I don't remember the proper English name for that kind of framing) and satellite TV antennae on them.
Something about old times and new times here!

Excellent photo - excellent composition! The view is typical for modern Russia :) Just as it is!
Best wishes,
Elena

As Elena, your "today neighbour :)", the first commenter wrote, the compo is really good, well-balanced.
Real question of this pic for me is about restoration, renovation: does it mean cultural revival of the local people or Rostov just becomes more shiny gem in "Golden ring" of drevnerusskiy land for tourists?
I know nowadays sat TV is part of our life and as I know religious life is really active in this region of Russia also. But which of them wins over the other one, or can they live together in harmony?Antennae are temporary things till Internet becomes an of-course-thing in this region also.
Anyway I do not know how can officals, municipalities, State Tourism Institution od anybody let such visual trashing directly next to such a treasure.
To be honest the controversy of "tipichna Rassiya", as Elena wrote, is perfectly captured, I cannot word it better.
Regards, Jalab
