This time of year is traditionally rich in hay bales images here so I thought I'd have one in my collection as well. Usually hay bales are captured numerous and shining jolly bright and golden in sunlit fields. Well, here's a solitary, a bit moody and misty image for a change taken in the sunset's afterglow.

Dobar den Marina,
Yes it's indeed the season to cut the yellow grass and store it, I can also observe it here
Deep field of vision, a picture taken at sunset time

nice change from your latest Maledives series. It shown how beautiful the nature is regardless of latitude. There is many things and aspects I like about your picture.I think the most captivating and also eye-catching is this mist hovering above the fields and createing here so lovely, kind of mystic mood.Another thing is the way you composed and framed the scene.I like this POV and angle creating long, almost endless perspective. And the last thing is definitely the light andhow it affects the whole scene(the sky looks wonderful)
Wish You all the best

the solitary bale in the FG allied to the bales in the distant mist help to give the shot a really nice depth which is emphasised by your good use of the patterns across the diagonal corners.
The mist and the touch of pink in the sky is delightful.

Nice words to help with the context. Indeed the scene looks lonely and cold ... yet perhaps can be seen throughout the world. Nice work to place the bale to the left and allow the lines to flow into the distance. This gives much more dimension to the overall composition. Though moody, sometimes this is a good feeling to have. Introspection. TFS

A typical rural scene at late hour of the day nicely captured from excellent viewpoint with the solid bale of hays waiting to roll. There's a good sense of depth and distance that you've got a great exposure there in lovely tones evoking a feel of tranquility. This is a wonderful off beaten track shot, fruitful and rewarding surely. Congrats

You are right, this is different from the usal bale images. The light and the mist convey some sense of melancholy. The composition is very good, too.

You've been posting a lot of (lovely) bright images of exotic, tropical places, but oddly, I'm drawn to this quiet, simple and exquisite composition from your own neighbourhood. Mind you, for me, Russia is quite exotic as well! I'm glad you resisted the temptation to over-cook the colour, as seems so popular on this site at the moment.

Hi Marina !!
I would have thought that you took the photo in the morning.... to capture that stream of fog which.... to me......is the highlight of the image.
We have the same sights here in Moss Vale..... only that the rolls of hay are covered in a plastic sleeve..... your looks more in tune with nature.
The photo is very well composed with interesting elements. Exquisite come to mind...

Just add a comment at other capture of hay bales, this one is special because of the blue light, the mist and the fading day's light
A creative one, congrats

a wonderful shot. Interesting skies feature a lot in your work but this has to be one of the most atmospheric. The mist adds a lot to this special mood. The composition where the hay ball plays an important role is excellent.
danos (90333) 2013-10-08 9:54
nice the view of the lonely hay ball in the harvest field with the morning fog on the backdrop to makes the image even more effective.
I like the well chosen POV as the excellent light management.
NorthernLight (2383) 2013-10-22 13:30
great, what you have made of a field with hay bales! The light blue clouds with the soft red accents, the ground fog that covered a part of the scenery.
A dream. A fantastic image with a very beautiful composition. A wonderful moment, which you captured perfectly!
Best regards from Sweden
