The famous St Basil`s Cathedral is a delightful array of swirling colors and redbrick towers. Its design comprises nine individual chapels, each topped with a unique onion dome and each commemorating a victorious assault on the city of Kazan. The church's design is based on deep religious symbolism and was meant to be an architectural representation of the New Jerusalem - the Heavenly Kingdom described in the Book of Revelation of St. John the Divine. It was built in the 16th century (1555-1561) on Red Square by Ivan the Terrible.
My Corrections: perspective distortion (slightly), removing lamposts, cropping image, new signature... Thank you for your critiques!

This is a very nice composition. Colors are wonderful. Could be a masterpiece with a blue sky and white clouds in the background like your other pictures have.

Great color contrast between the colored towers and the grey sky. You had a fantastic light.

This is wonderful! Such amazing architecture, i like the contrast that you have captured with the dark sky and the bright colours of the cathedral, the blue and white 'onion' is really different from the others (greens yellows and reds) I wonder why these colours were chosen - is there any reason? good composition - I wonder was this shot chosen because of the scaffolding around the bottom that is only just visable? thank you for sharing this spectacular shot :-)

The beautiful bright domes really contrast well with the overcast sky.
I like the variety of patterns the domes. Well done, Arthur.

WOW...I sometimes envy you Arthur! Such beautiful colours against a cloudy sky produces a wonderful effect. The picture is sharp and good. And I think, the way you have marked this picture with your copyright is much better than putting a frame like you have done in one of your recent photographs. This is subtle and neat and it also sends across the message...that the picture is yours..:)

en parcourant tes photos, j'ai de suite remarqué celle-ci, ces tours ensoleillées et très colorées sous ce ciel gris-noir menaçant, une situation qui attire le regard de suite.
Très bien vu.

Everything about this image is stunning! I haven't made it to Moscow yet (just St. Petersburg) but I just love the Russian architecture and "onion domes". These colors are fantastic against the gray clouds. Wonderful perspective!
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Arthur, I had lost you and your name, so I've done a big search and found you. Hurrah!
This is another of your amazingly beautiful photos of the Cathedrals in Russia. Excellent colours and sharp details, stunning composition too. Just great, I love it. Thank you.

Very good saturation and sharpness, Arthur, and nice contrast against the stormy sky. I never get tired of looking at photographs of St Basil's, even though it is hard to make them look different. I would have prefered to see the towers more to the right of the frame though, so they aren't slap bang in the middle. Cheers . . . David

The colours here are stunning and beautifully lit up against the dark sky. Was it recently repainted. I was there in 88 and don't remember it so perfectly colourful.
