Photographer's Note

This is the roof of a small church located at the entrance of the Red Square in Moscow. The original building was destroyed by Stalin, to create space for the military parades. The chuch was an obstacle for the tanks and the big trucks loaded with nuclear missiles, which could not easily get into the Red Square. A good reason to destroy it, don't you think ?

After the end of the Soviet Union it was rebuilt copying in any detail the original project.
Several churches in Moscow, previously destroyed by Stalin, were actually rebuilt in recent years.

This is not a church for tourists. I could see a truly religious behaviour in the russian people who were visiting the church.
