Considered to be one of the most beautiful in the system, it is a fine example of pre-World War II Stalinist Architecture and one of the most famous Metro stations in the world. The name as well as the design is a reference to Futurism and its prominent Russian exponent Vladimir Mayakovsky.Located 33 meters beneath the surface, the station became famous during World War II when an air raid shelter was located in the station.

I am always attracted to photos that have a strong sense of one-point perspective, and your image of this beautiful station is one of the best examples of that concept that I've seen. All the lines, both real and implied lead the the perfectly centered point. Bravo! This is excellence.
Keep shooting like this.

This is a pleasure to see Nick. A fascinating metro station, so elegant and beautiful, it looks like a ball-room until we see the trains on either side of the arched central portion. Your composition and management it really very good. Best regards Rosemary

this is just a cracking image! Your execution here is flawless and the effect stunning. Not sure if it HDR, but if it is then it is a glowing example of how to use this technique to maximum effect and beauty without making it obvious. I love it and it is going into my favourites. Awesome work!!

Quite a wonderful station. A true showcase of power. But also artwork that is ably to stand time. And obviously well maintained too.
Symmetric framing is perfect. I'm glad there's trains visible on both platforms.

It had to be ore Stalinist since Soviet architecture is totally devoid of imagination and aesthetic values. They must have sent to the gulags anyone with some spark in their soul.Beautifully captured, superb light management, and no litter in sight, not even a cigarette but. Regards. Klaudio.
