Photographer’s Note

Experimental shot.

When I came to the balcony of my room at 9th floor of a hotel at a bank of Volga in that extremely warm April evening, I saw beautiful view of surroundings.

But street lightning in Kostroma is not so bright, so I tried to take several shots with very long exposure abuting the camera on the balcony's railing.

Here is one of these shots. Actually, the church and the bell-tower were almost fully dark.

This church called "Voznesenia na Debre" (can be translated as "Resurrection at the Thicket") was build in 17th century by money of merchant Kirill Isakov, who traded stains with England. Once when he sorted bought stain, he found many gold coins in one of barrels and spent these money for building a church.

Brightness, contrast and colours of this picture was not edited by imaging software.
