Photographer’s Note
This was taken in the western part of Bantayan Island where most of the fishermen live due to its proximity to the rich Visayan Sea fishing grounds, renown worldwide for its biodiversity of marine life. This part of the island is seldom visited by tourists because it does not have the same quality of white sand beaches as that in Santa Fe.

Hello Renier,
The catamarans, so characteristic of this area, sit idly in the most transparent water I have ever seen. Congratulations on a well composed shot with vibrant colors and resolution.

Hi Renier,
the boats are very well placed, the dark mood works fine too. But the water reflection and together with its transparency makes the main thing for me. I like it a lot.

Hello Renier,
A very nice atmosphere to this well conceived composition. I like the immense depth and the contrast in light between foreground and background. Nice to see such clear water. Tones and sharpness are both superb. Very well done.

Hi Renier. Such clean water and maybe the sand is not up to scratch but it is certainly a whole lot whiter than anything around here. Nicely balanced composition and good detail. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hi Renier,
The scene is not bad and the boats looks exotic, but technically you could improve it by adjusting the levels and adding a bit more of contrast. I had prepared a WS for you but unfortunately you do not allow them.
Have a nice day JY

Nice composition with this so transparent water. You could have enhanced it a bit at PP by just changing the levels i think, just bringing more luminosity.

A superb tropical beachscape, on an overcast day. I tried a workshop, & will upload it, if you allow it in your gallery. Good framing & pov. Congratulations!

Hi Renier
Excellent shot.
The clarity of the water drives our eyes to the infinity horizon.
Curious floaters in bamboo and the way they are tied to the boat.

Hi Renier,
Great capture of these traditional fishing boats that seem so pratical on these warm tropical seas. The ocean is a lovely translucent turquoise and glimmering silver. Very nice pale blue sky.

Hello Renier
Crystal clear waters, the white 'outriggers' (is this the correct term?), pale colours, perhaps due to no sunlight. A different mood & a well made compo. A bit of contrast might have made this more punchy, but nonetheless, this is good work!

Hi Renier,
Inviting view and cool sky indeed. I like the tightness of the composition, though some more room at the edges would be good. I agree with JY that judicious post-processing could provide some more punch. Regards,

Hi Renier,
nice & typical scene... But I don't understand why it is that dark since the foreground seems sunny... There's also a lack of contrast. I hope you won't mind my honnesty but you could do something way better with that photo IMO...

Hi Renier,
The two FG boats are specially well placed and give the image a fine balance. You don't show the land of the beach, but what I see is pretty inviting: that translucent blue water, trees on the border of the sea... The menacing sky and the darkness on the distance gives a dramatic mood. Maybe it's the display I am using now, or maybe you wanted to keep realism, but I miss a bit of brilliance and saturation on the FG.

Hi Renier,
This place does look abandoned to me. The placement of the two boats was really good. They look a little old and rusty but gives a good depth to the shot.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Renier, I like those subdued colours and this stormy weather, also the metallic pipes that stabilize the boats are interesting to observe... (But I must say that your photo of Maoris are really incredible and I wish we could see more of them !)
