Photographer's Note
while one of the flight attendants on this CebuPac flight from zamboanga to cebu was delivering the following announcements, i was busy composing this frame.
simply put, these announcements meant: "ladies and gentlemen, in a few minutes we will be touching down mactan international airport. please make sure that your seat is on its original upright position and your safety belt fastened. cellphones and video cameras are not allowed until after the aircraft has come to a complete stop. thank you and we look forward to seeing you again in one of your many future flights with Cebu Pacific"....
Cebu Pacific is the youngest airline company operating in the Philippines. born in 1986 and to this day has expanded its operations to cities in neighboring regional asia- singapore, bangkok, shanghai to name a few... and soon to the west of continental USA- LA and Houston in particular.
the most common aircraft CebuPac uses are the airbus A319's and 320's. this one is aboard A319. it is one of the smaller members of airbus' highly successful single aisle airliner family in service, and competes with boeing's 737-300 and 737-700. seating for 124 passengers in a typical two class configuration (8 premium class and 116 economy). operating empty 39,884kg and standard maximum takeoff 64,000kg. wing span is 33.91 meters, lenght 33.84m, height 11.80m and wing area 122.4m2.
thanks to CebuPac's CEO, Lance Gokongwei, and its lowfare promo- it's time every JUAN flies!!

I usually do not critique airplane photos... but because the sharpness of this one on the wing I will do it... looks like there was no window!

Olá Ben,
you probably saw a post of mine with this subject but this is the result I was expecting on my image. The clarity is what pleases me most. Nice inclusion of the wing to break those clouds. Beautiful!

Hi Benedict,
It's amazing to see that this one doesn't suffer from any of the two most common negative issues of airplane shots: compo and sharpness. Both are excellent. The clouds and the islands below combine very nicely and, like Bruno says, one wonders how it was possible to make such a shot from a tiny round window.
Regards, José.

Wow, how did you memorize what the flight attendant said? So taking still photographs is allowed? I'm glad, otherwise this photo wouldn't be here.

Hi Benedict
There is an amazing sharpness in this one, specially considering it was taken through a window:)
I like that you included the wing and engine, usually when people take pictures, like that, they concentrate on the view only.

Hi Benedict,
it surprises the great clearness to me and brightness of the photography, is excellent. The quality of the image emphasizes clouds, they are perfect, and also the colors and diversity of tonalities of the sky. Great note also, amused and informative.

That's a hoot. I would always listen to the PA flight announcement and see whether I could still understand it. And sure enough I still do. Sharp focus on the wing and the clouds are lovely. Best regards, Danilo

Olá Benedict, very nice one taken from the plane. I allways ask for a window and if the weather is good I can be hours looking at the view. Love the effect of that carpet of clouds. The quality is pretty good and I like the framing with the engine and wing. It almost seems that you are on top of the plane, outside, catching the wind :)))) Excellent presentation.
Um abraço, festas felizes e feliz ano novo!

Hi Benedict,
The main issue for shooting a scene like this is to get a window seat with a reasonably clean window, looks like Cebupac is working hard to ensure photographers have good inflight shooting conditions ;-)
Nice & luminous view, well exposed, I like the inclusion of the plane parts to set the context.
Merry Christmas !

Hi Benedict,
It's quite difficult to take a good shot behind an airplane window. This one is excellent... Good sharpness and very good colors.
The wide-angle lens for this shot was also a good choice.
Happy new year,

Hi Benedict,
This is a pretty bright image taken through the plane window (I usually have problems with steamed plane windows). In general I prefer not to see parts of the plane in such shots, but here the wing is so meticuously captured, while the sea and the land down there didn't loose it appeal either.

Seem you were part of the crew Ben! Yeah was the window open? Or you took the shot before you jumped?! hehehe (just kidding mate) You seem to be in control of your shot, the composition is well managed, your 15mm is amazing, takes a good photographer to work such a shot!
All the best!

Photographing through the airplane window is always very difficult. Therefore, this one is incredibly good.

Hi Benedict,
there is sth in this photo that captivates me completely.
Maybe is the magnificent view from the plane...maybe is this hypnotic blue and clouds below us...or maybe is a silver-like tone that makes is a little cold, less flashy but more precious and special. I do not know exactly but it really impresses me.
As for technical point of view, is flawless.
My compliments,
Jeri
