Photographer’s Note

This posting is a milestone for me because it is my 100th.
I took this sunrise scene from my hometown, Bantayan Island. The colors in this photo is natural ... in fact the only post processing I've done here was slightly adjust the contrast and sharpen.
Sunrise colors in Bantayan is quite interesting to watch because within the span of thirty minutes, you get different vibrant colors in the sky. I was busy taking photos of the sky when I noticed that the reflections in the sand created by the residual waters was just as interesting. So I changed my focus to the color reflections and composed this photo. I hope you like it.

Wow, this is a very nice and warm picture. The colour and the sharpness of the scene create this beautiful view of the sunset. The boat is well placed on the image and its silhouette is an excellent focal point on the image. Nice compo Renier.

I like this light over the wet sand. The soft sunrise in this fine composition with the bushes left and the boat create a relaxed mood.

Hello Renier,
A beautiful atmosphere, personally I find sunrises often are better than sunsets, probably beacuse of the promise in the atmosphere, a promise for another great day!

Very nice photo, excellant sunset with perfect lighting. Prehaps a little to much foreground or to little sky, maybe if the POV was lower you could have got all the foreground plus the right amount of sky to balance the shot.
By the way when I say lower normally I take the shot lying down but its a bit wet!
It is an excellant evening shot and the boat gives a wonderful silhouetted image

Hello Kiwi,

I think this is a great image; the crushed gold effect is truly remarkable. The range of colour progresses well from the lower to higher portion of the image. The ripple formations, caused by the wave action have provided the wonderful textures and patterns we see. The off centre placement of the old shipping vessel is well undertaken. The sky has some good pastel tones, a refreshing change from the usual vivid, bright sunset. The dark wedge of palm trees completes the tropical feel and adds another scope of depth and dimension into the scene. Very pleasant.

Before opening the thumbnail, I thought is was water and not sand. This light and the impact you get from the pic are really strong.
