Photographer's Note

It was our last day/night in Saud White Beach in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. We were at a crowded beach waiting for the sunset. i would have preferred a less crowded one, but this moment was just so magical that i had to take a shot. i came up with a busy scene right before the end of the day/year.

happy new year to all!

entry below is from my virtual tourist site:

Saud is the main beach in Pagudpud. It is advertised as a white sand beach. However, it advertisement seems to be a misnomer. Because of two reasons: One, I would have to say that it is not comparable to the white sand of Boracay and Panglao, not even with Samal. However, it has a unique beauty all its own.

Two, the beach, for some parts is not made of sand! It is made up of small, round, smooth pebbles. Thus, there are many areas along the beach that would never be sturdy to walk on. It was quite difficult to walk on, as we started our trek to the end (well almost end of it). But after some time, we kinda enjoyed the nice feeling to our souls, as we made our way forward.

It was also enjoyable to watch the surf rush to the shore. As soon as it comes in, bubbles would start to form as the "sand" absorbs the water.

Fantastic to walk on a windy day!

Saud is a 1.5km stretch of beach lined with resorts at the Bangui Bay. It offers a wide range of places to stay from the budget backpacker (we stayed at Jun and Carol Beach Resort) who wants a beach front to the affluent guest (Saud White Beach Club).
