Photographer's Note

Abot kamay is a tagalog term that means "just within arm's reach". This photo was taken in Target Island where we pit stopped in our holy week vacation in 2006. Two friends seems to be reaching for one another in this shot. The subjects were very much attracted to the tree as it is very inviting with its strong branches and beatiful location along the beach.

This shot is the general feeling that Bulalacao projected from our last visit. Bulalacao is a tagalog term that means comet. Because of the 13 islands that litter the Tablas Strait that comprise the municipality, many people have come to believe that the islets are bits and pieces of an asteroid or a comet that landed in the area years ago.

The ride from Calapan almost took the whole day, and the roads were rough and dusty. But when we arrived, it proved to be a wonderful place with people always ready to lend out a helping hand. Definitely worth the long long long travel time. The place is definitely within arm's reach, if only for that.
