A long time ago I had a photo of a fighting cock posted here on TE. For some strange reason now lost to me, I deleted it. Instead of repost the photos, I decided to post a new one.

As I mentioned in my previous post cock-fighting is a big gamblers favourite in Mia.

The area's Don King lives in a two story house on a hill overlooking the poorest neighbourhood. His field is covered with dozens of the poultry pugelists and their individual little homes.

The house is the only one with electricty and has a spotlight on the field all night and music blares in the evenings (the former to protect against chicken-napping and the later to prepare the birds for the noise of an actual fight). Of course there is a guard 24 hrs to protect the very expensive investment.

Every weekend there are matches held in the private fighting pit onsite. I hear that this little venture brings in a pretty penny from the poor locals.

The house belongs to a priest.

Great idea,that low POV, Alex. The colors POP beautifully, a very "Pro" shot in my view.Incombination with your superior and informative note,it's a first class TE package.Would that more punters came by an commented, though.Really good reportage.

hi alex, you have a hell of a lot of diagonal lines in your gallery, and they rock! i like ground-level shots. they make us see the world from a different perspective. and that sky is to die for. well done.

A great shot here Alex, I guess what is so striking about it is the way that you put us in the point of view of another rooster. Down low and with a bit of grass in the way. Great work.
