She has such a happy and beauyiful personality. What set her apart from the other sidewalk vendors was her pink hair. But there's more to her than that. She has grace. She has the spirit.

Hi Manny,
I've seen some of your works and I understand why a lot of people chose you as one of their favorites (Proud of you Kabayan!). Your photos are simply outstanding! In this case for instance, the details and lines of 'Lola Rosalinda's' face is shown excellently! I am even haunted by the light's reflection on her eye.

I noticed that you're using a 60mm lens. May I ask if you're doing a tight cropping on your portraits? Any hints? I would really appreciate to learn a bit of people photography which you've definitely mastered already.

i like this one much better because we don't see her blind eye that I find very disturbing on the other shots. the color Pp is excellent as usual

hmm, interesting portrait...the colours is what's appealing.
i like the ashy gray colours...sort of matches the appearance of this old lady.
well done in framing her face.

The sharpness in the lines of the skin, and the detail you've managed to capture, is extraordinary. I assume this is USM filtered quite heavily in Photoshop?

Wonderful portrait. I like the very tight crop, but although you explain the pink hair I think it does detract from the overall image.
Despite that, it is a great piece of work.

Hallucinating! I already looked at the photograph on another site. I like really very much. it is a photograph which cannot leave indifferent. the glance, the face, the smile, the skin, all contributes to obtain a force. your control of the photograph is giant.

How wonderful it that! Great work and a great lens you have there. I see a woman with a heart and soul of a much younger woman than the wrinkles on her hand woyuld suggest. Great coloring, too.

Wow Manny you truely are the master of capturing peoples eyes. Of this aprticular lady I like this one best as it shows more of her kind nature than the others. the details of her hand are striking. But that cataract that she has in her right eye creates a very strong impact.
I hope you don't mind but added this to my theme 'eyes from around the world'

I would prefer if can see her both eyes.

It is not only the warmth of her face, the candid eyes and beautiful smile, it is not the amazing technique you used in colours and details, its about what we can see behind this portrait..

I just saw this photo in TE's 1st page ("favorite photo"), and was stunned : I saw such kind of faces travelling in the Philippines 2 winters ago, but never with such a wealth of jewels and you portrayed this elderly lady so well...
