Photographer’s Note
You may remember this scene from At Play in an Alley, and At Play in an Alley II.
This third photo is of the end of playtime. The other two have tired from the carrying game, and Dad is telling them to settle down.
One of the things I really like in this shot is how the colours of the two foreground kids clothes are so similar to the painted walls behind.

alex, this one has beautiful colors and the atmosphere is so domestic and not pretencious, I lov e it!
looks like my mom´s house somehow. a pity the kids on the background look a bit too dark on my monitor.
excellent series!

Hey AF,
well this one just doesnt work for me.. Too dark.. no real colors to see, the flash does try to light up things but then still not good enough. Also for me the composition isnt just fine.
Sorry to say but just doesnt work for me at all.
But loving your recent series quite a bit.
Cheers.

I am FAST becoming a fan of your work, Alex. Each picture shakes one out of one's complacency. You drag the eye to the edges of the frame, a bit like Eugene Richards (Magnum) and there are touches of Webb in you too. You let a shadow BE a shadow (Webb) and that figure in the half-opened doorway brings it all together. Natural, and at the same time very carefully aligned. A great lesson. Francis

Sorry, mate, but this one just does not work for me as much as I would want it to. The overall impression for me is that the image itself is rather dark. There is some light on the girls face but not enough to have her connect with the viewer. The lady leaning out the door is a nice addition, but because her face is right behind the door frame her being there looses some of its appeal. Good but the other shots from the series are way better.
