Photographer’s Note
It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
- from the song “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”
------------------------------------------
He’s the elder brother of the boy in the workshop (an earlier post).
Both of them help their father in maintaining their ricefields. The sack he’s carrying here weighs around 60 kg/132 lbs and contains fertilizers to be scattered into the fields.
Together, they as a family all share the workload.
Another photo (back view) of this boy is posted at the workshop.
I hesitated to post this photo at first as I wasn’t able to get the quality I wanted.
However, I really want to share the typical farmer’s way of life here in the Philippines, so here it is.

It looks to me like this man's load weighs more than he does! He must be very strong! It is good to have hard work and it is nice that the whole family shares in the work. At the same time though it is sad that they have to work THAT hard! My job is only dealing with mountains of paperwork and huge amounts of emails, so I just get fat sitting all day. Some days I wish for some physical work. Anyway, your photo is great of the daily life of a farmer in the Philippines. Very nice composition and cropping.

Otimo momento Alford!!!
Expressiva atitude do operario.
Amo essa combinação de cores, e estando bem definidas são mais fantasticas. Gosto dos contrastes e das texturas.

Hi Alford, nice glimpse in the daily life of these farmers. Not easy for him to shot as model and at the same time to carry a sack on the head. Well done!

You really captured how hard Filipino farmers work. They really toil their land with their bare hands and bare feet.
I like the texture, sharpness and the colors and contrast between them. Another Great job Alford.
