Photographer’s Note

The Ilongos (native of Iloilo)knows how to relax and appreciate nature's beauty. The sun slowly ebbs on the horizon but the temperature is still warm and the air is humid. This view shows men, women and children fishing and cooling themselves while appreciating a beautiful sunset.

This was taken at the port of Jaro, Iloilo as I was coming back from Guimaras Island. When I arrived here the sun was still up but I lingered a while for this shot.

Iloilo is the largest province of Panay Island. The island of Panay holds four provinces, Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, and Capiz. It is an agriculturally rich province and has a precious historic past being the initial base of the Spanish Missionaries. To this day old churches mark the landscapes of several Iloilo cities.
