Celebrating Town Fiesta, a photo from Negros Occidental, Western Visayas

My old hometown of Calatrava on the island of Negros in the Philippines celebrates town fiesta in honor of St. Peter-St. Paul, patron saints of the town, on June 29. This was taken in June 2007 the last time I visited the place. And the town has grown so much since I left almost 50 years (of course I’ve visited a few times since then). In my high school days, the total student population was 120, in 2007 the student population of my old high school was over 4,000. Those Filipinos knows how to “go forth and multiply!”

very interesting note Eleu, you share with us. I'm working with lady from Philippines, her name is Pure. She is very nice and very friendly person. We're talking every day. You captured this scene of celebration beautifully and interesting way. Those costumes are very colorful and stunningly beautiful. I like this picture with so many details. Gorgeous vegetation, fantastic saturation, color, sharpness, great POV with fabulous perspective and DOF as well. Very beautiful picture. Perfectly well done. Thanks for sharing. Awesome!!!!

Beautiful capture of the occasion and I like the fact that you keep the atmospheric background of a fiesta. How very colourful they look and what wonderful natural smiles you have captured and seems everyone is having fun. Bright and colourful well organised image, and I am sure you have done them proud as they are still looking good after the long walk. They know how to do things here mind you the weather help and I like the eyes connection with the camera. For me this enhances the mood of the image tremendously, a real feeling that you are one of the crowd of onlookers. Well done.
