Photographer’s Note
I took this shot on my most recent Boracay trip. The weather had been up and down weeks prior and the fishermen have been talking about the coming of the "habagat" or winds from the southwest (which brings in the monsoon season), hence the waves you see in the background (Boracay waters are usually calmer).
It was my fifth time going back, my first trip to Boracay being 18 years ago, when I was a little kid, and when there was a lot less people on the island and nary a bar/club in site. I miss that old Boracay so much and this picture, for me, symbolizes that time when life on the island epitomized peaceful simplicity.
