Photographer’s Note
Two youngsters whizz along in the shallow water on White Beach, Boracay. This seems to be a popular game for kids in many places where the beach is flat at low tide. They toss the board down and then run after it and jump aboard. I think if adults tried this they'd end up hurting themselves.

Hello Murray,
I'm a skimboarder.
I like your picture.
Cause of the colors, the little rocks behind the kids.
This is not a good "skimboard picture" cause this is not an action picture with a big wave and a high spray etc.
BUT all the spirit is here. You know why skimboarders in Philippines are good. Cause they do it for fun, they begin when they are kidz with some bad wood boards.

I have seen this in our beaches too. Actually, it is quite fun watching them doing this.
For the photo, it is a quite nice shot for a cloudy day. One thing that I noticed is the curvature of the horizon which is much more visible towards the right hand side. Any explanation for that?

Hi Murray. I used to do this when I was a kid! I can remember the odd crazed elbow or shoulder when the board stopped and I didn’t ;-). Nice catch and well presented. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.
