El Nido Town Beach III, a photo from Palawan, Southern Tagalog

Photographer's Note

Another view of the El Nido town beach. It's not bad at all, but there are better beaches around the islands & Bacuit archipelago. This beach is mainly used as a start & finish point for daytrips to the islands for snorkelling & sightseeing.

In the background are some of the limestone karst peaks. I liked the backlight here and excluded the washed out sky as this was taken looking towards the setting sun late afternoon.

this is a very beautiful picture from a great point of view that leads the eye to follow the well placed curve of the shore and delight in the lovely scenery. The decision to keep the sky out of the frame was excellent, you've only kept the fantstic light that enlivens the view and its colours in a fantastic way. The buildings along the shore, the woman walking towards you and the two figures at the back add great scale and depth. Clarity and colours are amazing. Congratulations and thank you for the photo and the magic light.

hi chris,
this looks to be an incredible spot. the little wooden houses on the beach give the pplace such character. while the trees and cliffs provide a wonderful natural backdrop behind the sea. excellent depth of field, and lovely bright colours.

Good Morning Chris,

I think you are right, it is often more sensible to crop washed-out skies which add nothing to the impact of the shot and often drain the colour from the rest of the shot.

This looks idyllic; the sea lapping against the shore, the curved beach leading around the frame, pastel coloured houses and a lady in red, attracting the eye like a magnet! Fine details in this fine composition.

Hi Chris,

The curve of the beach is an asset to the composition. The distance between the beach and the hills is giving depth to the scene. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the tropical scenery. The afternoon light os enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

The composition is good with that curve of the beach. Wonderful how this small village is clamped between the sea and the steep towering limestone cliffs. And even more wonderful is that tropical view of the abundant greenery growing everywhere on those white cliffs.
It looks very idyllic.

it is not bad at all :). I wouldn't mind to spend a day or two here. Wonderful palms and small houses in the background and you were lucky to see this lady in red going, she provides an eye catching accent.
