Helicoptor Island II, a photo from Palawan, Southern Tagalog

Photographer's Note

Another view of Helicoptor Island in the gorgeous Bacuit Archipelago, off El Nido, at the top of Palawan Island. The only way in is by boat, and fishermen at El Nido make a living from bringing in tourists to these idyllic deserted bays. Or at least they are deserted until the tourists arrive! This island had some monkeys in the trees but I was more interested in the beach.

When seen from out at sea the island's outline resembles a helicopter.

Hello Chris,
nice hte view of the helicopter island,really what a strange name,with the greenery to approach the sea.I like the tranquil and calmly environment with the boats and the people to adds life in the scene.

Hi Chris,

The distance between the boats and the mountain is giving depth to the composition. The trees are framing well the beach. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the tropical scenery. The late afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Chris,
une photo impressionnante de relief, cette végétation rejette des verts très forts par opposition à un ciel dont les bleus sont tendres.
Un excellent POV du large vers les côtes.

I do not see here a helicpter, but maybe I havr too small imagination. But what I see is the beautiful beach and amazing colour of water. And this strangely constructed boats. fantastic lush vegetation.

This looks like a really great place, with just a few tourists around and a couple of boats (at least at the moment you took the photo:)!The vegetation in background really catch my eye here and colours and sharpness are very good.

This is simply enticing. It's just funny how people thousand miles and hours away visit this place while me, living on this country hasn't set foot into this area. One day, I shall visit this place. Hello Chris,
the way you have composed and framed this view is wonderful, it offers us a great view of the nature and atmosphere of the island. I like the inclusion of sky, vegetation, beach and sea in the frame, they make a lovely composition and tell so much about the character of this place. The boats speak of its summer season aspect. I love the marvellous light, the way the sky is reflected on the sea and the clear view under the shade. The colours are fascinating. Well done and thank you!
