Photographer’s Note
Puerto Galera and its environs are a tourist destination; hence we showed up during Chinese New Year for a stretch on the beach. We took a walk into the little town behind the beach and got a peek at daily life for the locals. These kids were playing tag in a dumpy empty lot next to this shell of a house. They were having a great time!
i like the effect of the rays, as if the kids are blessed or something. Levels and color balance were adjusted to pull the rays out even more; the shirts didn't need any help, they were already quite bright. Advice on the best technique for shooting into the sun? Thanks!

Hi Kristy,
Nice feel here. I like the flaring effect. It works with this picture well. I like daily life photos like this. As for shooting towards the sun, I use a lens hood. They're pretty cheap.

Another nice capture of daily life in motion. This seems to be your niche. I am not certain, however, why you ask how to take photos into the sun. It seems to me that you accomplished what you wanted. However, I would recommend that, if you have the time when shooting, take the image from different angles. In other words, get one low shot completely without sun, then one like you have and yet another with the sun actually in the image. I would take this all as quickly as possible so as not to lose the moment and then see which one suits your tastes. Keeping this information in mind, you can be better prepared next time. I always think, when you are not sure, take lots of shots, especially with the advent of digital! Cheers, Paul.

Hi Kristy,
It is really nice picture about the carefreeness of childhood... Their clothes contrast the grey wall, and the light I think is the best part of the picture here, it looks like the rainbow of childhood... So I really like it. Other situations lens hood would work well, but here I think the pic is good the way it is!
Thanks,

Hello Kristy
A fantastic motion Picture! You captured a very good "enstantanet" (I hope I'm writting it correct)with amazing colors. Althought is over exposure on the top right I like it as colors seem softer and give to the picture a water color look.
Best regards
Argyris
