[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
i was fascinated by the expression of these kids as they compare gifts given to them by the gawad kalinga volunteers during a build.

gawad kalinga, "to give care" in English, is an alternative solution to the blatant problem of poverty not just in the Philippines but in the world. this is done using the strategy of providing land for the landless, homes for the homeless, food for the hungry and as a result providing dignity and peace for every Filipino.

I like this picture for many reasons, one being that I am a sponsor to six children (2 in the Philippines) and always wish I could see them when they recieve their gifts. These children with so little always seem to think of the next person, as shown in this picture. They aren't selfish. What their friend/sister, got is just as important to them. TFS
