Photographer’s Note
after i had a meeting with the parents of the community school in sitio pamantawan here in davao city, my companions and i walked around their homes.
by the coop, were some people playing their indigenous instruments, including this girl holding the salurey. the saluray is a bamboo instrument specifically for ladies. it has slits on the side, and some steel strings which the lady will pluck. often the male plays the kuglong. they oftentimes sing a ballad as they play.
