Photographer’s Note

These kids were participants of the street dancing in last year's kadayawan festival. Despite of the sweltering heat and the long hours of dancing, they still managed to pose and offer a smile.

Kadayawan is the festival of festivals in Davao. Showcasing are mostly tribal inspired street dancers and authentic LUMADS (indigenous people). It promotes the rich cultural heritage and arts of the Dabawenyos.

This years activity starts on August 12 up to the 20th. Please check www.kadayawan.com for the daily activities. Grand street dancing parade is on the 19th and on the 20th is the floral float parade.

J'aime bien cette photo de jeunes filles toutes souriantes. Bonne composition et bon commentaire.
Dommage que la partie supérieure soit trop éclairée mais c'est quand même une belle photo.

A very colorful shot with smiling children.
The costumes they are dressed in are very interesting, especially decoration around their heads and hands. What is it made of?

Sharp and colourful capture of these delightful faces. To my shame I admit I've never travelled beyond Luzon in the Philippines, and even there only a few places: Davao sounds a fascinating place, although as a "foreigner" I'm cautious of the south.
In which case this photograph will be my visit, for now ...
And enjoyable it is. Salamat po!
