Photographer’s Note

Was shooting a docu on upland farming. This old man was on his way to work on his small plot of land when I asked if I could take his photo. He was a very willing model as he stood infront of me and told me what his day was going to be like and how busy he would be as soon as the harvest season begun.

Excellent portrait Pauline, and I like the quality of your B&W conversion - great tonality and texture in his skin.
The way you included his hand holding the farm-tool is a great touch, and I don't think the shot would have worked so well without it - it gives an immediate idea of his way of life.
I'd get rid of that twig thingy in the sky, as it's a bit of a distraction. A minor detail though.
Like I said - great portrait, and most importantly you caught something of this man's character and personality. Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

Hola Pauline, One of the most charming portraits that I dress last weeks somewhere here.
I like everything ..... the light, the definition, the contrasts and of course the particular physiognomy of the face of this farmer.
Good work, congratulations.
Un abrazo.

Marvelous portrait, there are stars in his eyes ! Great expression and great presentation, details such as hands and repairs in his sweater are so moving... Excellent B&W - looking impatiently for more of this kind,
Congratulations,
Cath.

Hi Pauline, a very mature portrait. I like how his eyes are looking into the far. His hand holding the sickle reveal very much his everyday life. Excellent, I liek very much. Have a good weekend, Alex

Hi Pauline,
looking through your gallery, I think you certainly seem to have a knack for portraits. This one is beautiful. The man's face is amazing and the B&W does him justice. Excellent framing with this hat. Love it.
Cheers,
Philippe
