Photographer’s Note

Leaving Siargao island cloud and rain made for a boring overcast day - or so I thought. Then this quiet moment came up after the rain, an amazing compostion of blue to me, overlooked probably as boring by others who where nearby (they didn't take any photos).

The reflection on the waves caused by the ferry added a highlight, some focus in the foreground and helps to create a feeling of depht.

Hard part about this shot was the light - or rather the lack of it. The use of the 85mm 1,8 lens allowed to close down the aperture to the point where I got enough depht of field to have both, the waves in the foreground and the horizon, crisp and clear, while maintaining a shutter speed fast enough not to blur the moving waves.

Another photograph which shows why I do like to travel in 'rainy season' in particular, you just won't get situations like thisone during dry season and it ever blue skies...
