Another old one from my days in Miarayon.
This was taken during the Anlaw Hu festival and these kids are at the base of the stage just hanging out. Their elders came up to the edge to take a bow, that's when I got this shot.
Those of you who followed my trip there may recall that the area is very poor and the majority are farmers. For some of the girls, marriage comes as early as 12 when their parents find them a husband in exchange for a dowry of P10,000 - P20,000 (approx $200 - $400 USD).

Hi Alex, I really like how this was done and the face expression of the two kids. The black & white gives this photo with a tinge of sadness. Thanks for sharing!

Alex bonjour - I like this BW shot and the super POV - the children face under the big shoes are fantastic -
Have a nice day

Great work, Alex! You caught exactly the right moment, just when the girl is glancing upward to her parents of which only the feet are revealed. Superb use of diagonal tension in both directions.

Very good composition Alex! The expression of the girl as she looks up is perfect timing. The low white wall makes a good separation between the two kids and the people on top.

Nice composition, Alex--it makes it seem that the kids are squeezed into a box by the adult world above. Nice tones, too. Regards, Ken.

Good composition. That foot adds impact. Well done Alex.

Good story within a frame-- the moment of pondering what it's like to be an adult and also the shadow of what will probably lie ahead for these two girls.

Beautiful composition, Alex. Love the contrast, their tiny dimension and their mischievous faces with a longing look.

Hey Alex. This is really good. I like the line created by the top of the wall. Her expression is perfect, and with the perspective, the size of the adult feet compared to the crouching children give an even sense of difference. Great job.

I discovered your gallery today (during my daily exploratory trip! - I'm quiet new here) and I already found so many photographs I like. This one is so nice! Lot to learn from this POV and composition, thanks. For sure the way this little looks at the "adult world" is what gives the title all its charm (so to speak ;-)).

this is like a Magnum shot. So visually strong with geometric lines, the cut off feet and the little girl unaware of you looking up. Just fantastic stuff.

Beautiful, amazing. The choice of BW is well chosen. Great Composition and point of view, great work getting just the parents feet in shot as the girl glances above. Very well done. and good informative note
