Excellent use of color. I'm impressed. The red really makes this photo come to life. I also like how everything feels like it is in a box. The chess board, floor tile and the chairs all make these guys seem a bit trapped without knowing it. The fact they are both on their cell phones just is an added bonus. Well done!
Sincerely,
Kate

Hi Alex, great work... an artistic idea. The geometrical design, the men just contrasting with their positions, and the red that captures. Congrats! chau chau,
Maria

Nothing much to say, great shot, and the B & W in contrast to the red is good. As this is much about composition I would have cropped a few mm in the left and in the top to get rid a disturbing parts. Greetings Jens

this is one interesting framing from a height! and then your leaving the chessboard table in color and the rest in BW makes it a marvelous sight! flawless work, Alex!

Hi Alex,
Great selective desat and exellent POV. I really like how everything is so orderly (straight lines, patterns, perfectly arranged chess boards, numbers at tables), but yet the aspects of disorder too (some lines crooked, things not lining up, both players bored on their cell phones, slack posture of the guy on the right). It's kind of like disorder within order at the same time.
Cheers,
Jordan

Hi Alex!
This photo has too many interesting elements in it to appreciate!
Firstly, your amazing high POV, almost perpendicular to the photo's plane, then the selective coloring on red, and the diffrent subject of chess players. Both of the players writing SMS on their cellulars instead of playing chess, is also a quite humorous situation. Great work!

Great shot. The composition is so nice, and the relaxed nature of the two competitors makes it seem like a very joyful scene, suggesting the love of the game, before even seeing the game played. The red helps, too. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Alex,
This is a wonderfully graphic shot, full of squares and black and white contrasts - a white player against a black one... The POV and the composition are excellent, as is the colour scheme. I wonder what the guys are reading on their cells - last-minute strategy tips, I assume. Have a nice weekend, Dasha

Hello Alex,
Here is a moment rather slackened before the battle of the neurons !!! Original glance on these two competitors which await quietly their adversary to begin their tournament… I like much the idea of the desaturation here which emphasizes well the two chess-boards. A very visual photograph, well done Alex, cheer.
With all my friendships and with soon,
Jean-Charles
