Photographer’s Note

This is the moonset early morning during Holy Week at the Manila bay. This was a rare chance to be able to see the full moonset because I did not need to go to work that Holy Friday.
I woke up very early and hoped for good weather. Everything was perfect.
However, I do not have a zoom powerful enough, so I cropped the original to obtain this composition. After cropping, I can notice small blur. My manual focus was not good enough (my sight is not that good and viewfinder is not very accurate).
I have been thinking not to post this one because is not up to the level of TE… but I think it is too much waste of effort not to do it. So, here it is. Thanks

perhaps, as you say in the notes, the quality isn't at top level, but I think that your composition is a really masterpiece, with all the elements perfectly placed and a magnificent full moon. Congratulation, you did well posting this lovely image.

Hi Jorge,

Back in the Philippines. Instead of sunset, we have moonset here. Very romantic photo. The sea and sky have the same colour. fantastic reflection of the full moon. Splendid composition.

Full moon is special element on this. It balances composition. Fascinating scene in it's simplicity: breakwater, ship and the moon with dark blue background.

This is truly a great photo. The use of a tripod is always beneficial in such situations and the results are quite evident. Also great POV and a beautiful frame and an unbelievable gorgeous moon. Thanks for sharing.
Concernong Chile, I thought you were still living there. Thanks for the information that you sent me. You don't have to do any more research. I will look up some of it on the internet and I will try to go to the embassy in Ottawa when I have a chance.

Three totally different element in a fascinating blue atmosphere of sky, water and vague mountains on the horizon. And then the perfect reflection of the moon…… What can I say? Only a appropriate silence I think.

yes, the blurr is noticable, but I'm glad you posted this image, the combination of lighthouse, ship and full moon is too fascinating to be missed. how much did you crop? would be interesting to see the original version.

nice moment captured. the full moon as a big light for the boat. Maybe the f/11 was not the best for a good focus, but the final is good.
