Photographer’s Note
This photo shows the University of the Philippines ca. 40-meter high bell tower 'Carillion' built sometime during the 50's or maybe early 60's.
I was jogging around the campus when I noticed the bright 'diffused' light of the full moon over the clouds. Tried looking for a structure to go with it and found the Carillion. Couldn't avoid the edge of the building due to position of the moon and of the Carillion. Otherwise I would have to crop the photo.

Alex,
J'aime bien l'angle de prise de ta photographie. Avec le ciel, elle donne un aspect dramatique à cette photo. Les tâches noires entre les nuages ajoute à l'atmosphère...Bravo !

nice shot of the sky, wish you could have taken a clear sheet of the building though.

Hi Alex,
Interesting image. At first I thought it was a reflexion in water... The dark spaces among the cloudes were looking like leaves that fell down from the tree... Beautiful light, with the illuminated tower directing our eyes towards the full moon. Great POV and misterious feeling... Congrats!

Impressive composition, the tree-covered tower is truly impressive, pointing at the moon like that.
Did you try one wit a shorter exposure time where the moon would'nt be overexposed?
I know it's very hard to get, the trouble with the moon is that it's so bright; If you capture it's details it's everything else that becomes too dark...

Hi Alex,
Wonderful shot of the sky with the gaps in the clouds. I also like the building and the light shining on the trees. Good exposure and I would not change it as the moon looks good being a little over exposed. Top photo.

You've composed this very creatively, Alex. Yes, I agree it would have been much better without the corner of the building in the top left, but I can't see how you could have avoided that unless you wanted to do a lot of cloning work to recreate the sky in that corner. The UP Carillion was actually built in 1952 and, as you would know, fell into disrepair around the years that you posted this pic. I believe they were going to try and renovate it for the Centennial celebration in 2008 - do you know if that happened? Cheers . . . David
