High in the mountains of north Luzon lives the Ifuego people.
For thousands of years they carved with their hands and sculpted the mountains to what it is today – a complete system of Terraces, canals, dams and irrigation systems to enable them to cultivate the hostile mountain area and to make them fertile rice fields.

Wonderful. It remember me Peru a lot. The Inca people did the same in the Andes mountain. Just the same but in the other part of the world.

Wonderful. Did you use a polarizing filter ? The 2 huts in the valley (with thatched rooves, rather than corrugated iron or tiles) are a nice touch.

I love your composition here showing the terraces from very close up to the far distance. And I like how you've included the huts at the bottom - it gives the picture a very necessary scale reference.

Great colours too. I must visit here...

Hi Yuval. This is an excellent photo of these rice terraces. The use of these terraces for farming is so clever. The way you have taken this shot, especially with the close up in the foreground is really interesting, and a view of them I have not seen before. Really well done!

I love this picture because it really captures the immensity and grandeur that these steppes embody. I was there about 5 years ago but I will never forget the awe I felt while driving past in a rickety Jeepney.....thanks for bringing me back!
