Photographer’s Note

Ok, I have downloaded Photofiltre, and was playing around with this for awhile now, and I'm curious as to what you think. Am I messing up? Is it an improvement? ALL pointers are more than welcome. Thanks in advance.
I took this from the ferry just before we left Ormac City to travel to Masbate Island.

This looks beautiful-No real doubt about that.You have not certainly messsed up anything.Beautiful textures and colours.The ship has added depth as well.

Hi Karen, if you're talking about noise, then the process must have worked, because this looks clean to me (and I like to think I'm picky). I like the shot too. You're breaking all the rules putting the ship in the centre of the shot, but it works here. What it has done is that it has bisected the shot with a clear shadow from the sun behind it so the left side is darker than the right. I like the angle the ship is on, with this angle we can perceive it still travelling forward to the right. Your colour is good, with great textures on that water and sky, and the ship is dark and in shadow (another broken rule?) but that works well here.

A very appealing composition with lovely tones. The ship is nicely placed in the frame and the rippling water in the foreground adds some additional interest. Very good clarity and no sign of any grain ;-) Good work!

Hi Karen,
well done with the light and the ship is excellent placed in the capture. The silhouette works in the good soft enlighted surrounding. Clean and clear capture with one a bit disturbing flaw. There is a tilt of the horizontal line.

I think this is a much better quality. I can't see as many artifacts except a little ghosting around the masts of the ship and in the sky a bit. Your file size is only 69kb so you have effectively lost a lot of pixels when you are downsizing.

Lovely atmosphere as the tropical night is about to wrap the scenery!
Great colours and fine details, in particular the light reflects lovely off the calm waters...
A couple of minor adjustments are applied in the workshop, have a look!

Dear Karen,
this combination of the ship-silhouette and the sea-scene of sunrise (or sunset?) is beautiful and impressive.
surely this soft image fits well the atmosphere there and then.
I like tilt horizon and wide square, these are natural for my eyes, (sorry, pablominto's WS looks unnatural to me...)

I see that Pablo has already corrected the horizon. The rest is perfect, the composition, the colours. I like the siilhouette of the lonely boat and you have chosen the time very well, the light is very good.

Hi Karen,
The big ferry boat is seen in a lovely silhouette as it is surrounded by the silver and gold tones of the late day sea. Very soothing image. You might want to play with the levels lighting them will bring more clarity to the a darker image.

The colours are really nice. I like the placement of the ship and perfectly chosen moment of taking this photo.

I like it a lot! Its better than previous ones. WS of pablominto is also very good!

Hello Karen,
You had done well on the filtre and also a great photo well captured with good timing!
you had made the good use of the ship to fill the space between the pov and the sun that makes a great perspective in the composition
the image is sharp, good colour and much details
even better with the lever horizon, just a thought!
