Photographer’s Note

This pier found on a tiny little island off Leyte called Biliran Island. In the evening all of the people from this village seem to gather here to visit and fish. No pp work, just sharpened and resized.

Très bel effet de perspective rendu à travers cette composition qui ne manque pas d'originalité.
Les couleurs rehaussent cette voie conduisant jusqu'à l'horizon.
Une façon inédite de présenter un paysage.

There is a nice balance of textures and colour here. The concrete in gray vs the clouds that sport a variety of colours. Nicely done.

I would crop this, so that the diagonal line of the pier starts / finishes in the bottom right corner. I'd also burn in the highlights in the clouds, & sharpen. Good dual linear perspective is provided by the 2 sides of the long pier. Tfs!

This photo has a very cool sky in it - what nice cloud patterns and light trying to burst through them.

Hello Karen,

A good pov which dictates where the gaze will go, taking advantage of the focal buildings, the distant hills and the dramatic sky.
A crop of the f/g pier would make a better composition.

the perspective on the road offers a great depth to the photo,but I wonder if the road doesn't take a too much important place!But the sky and its colours are fantastic!

Hello Karen,
I like the atmosphere here and the threatening sky. The pier offers a wonderful long perspective towards the distant cloud shrouded mountains. I think the composition would be strengthened by cropping some of the foreground, say to the line where the tone changes from light to dark.
