Photographer’s Note

This kind gentleman stopped to pose for me, but when I got home I decided I liked this picture the most where they are on the move, heading home at the end of a hard day. Not a great picture, I know, but one that I think shows a very common scene in the Philippines.

I think the man and his animal have some attraction to the eye but what makes it complete will be the deep green color and palms of the tropical look. Something that really tells many from this region this is home territory.

The direction and the rush...to get home!

un clin d'oeil à une vie toute simple, loin du tumulte, peut-être pas un gros salaire, mais surement pas non plus trop de tracas.

Here you have good photographic quality and learn something as well.
The lesson on my part was, that people in Philippines does take much more care about their security than in many other parts of the world !

Nice one Karen, the on the fly shots are often the best ones. This one with the hard shadows is nice and doesn't detract from it at all, fine capture.

A nice daily life moment - the vegetation looks thick and beautiful behind the man and cow. It's a nice scene to have captured as im sure it represents this area well.

Hello Karen,
A very enjoyable picture, probably as you say better than when he posed for you. I tried a workhop to see if I could retrieve more details from among the trees and on the buffalo's head and hopefully to catch more of the brightness of the tropical sun. I hope you won't mind.
