Photographer's Note
... i think i'm going to make a whole series here of the Sinulog 2006 celebration just to show the world how the sinulog (one of the biggest fiesta celebrations in the country) was celebrated in the Philippines...in honor of the Seņor Sto. Niņo (the Holy Child)... this old woman played the drums when she met the holy child from the fluvial parade.. i thought i had a difficult shot 'coz my subjects were backlit...

i like this...i only wished it wasn't so gloomy that day. this would also be better without the body of the person behind the profile of the drummer...that way we could have a better image of her...since she is the focus of your shot. otherwise, you framed this well...and your comp is interesting.
thx for sharing!

Hi Daniel. You have compensated for the difficult lighting conditions by using a shallow DOF, but your POV would have been better just slightly to the left so that you had only the sky against the old woman's face and not the face of the man behind. Cheers . . . David
