Photographer’s Note
Fishing boats off the shore of Bantayan city. I liked the symmetry and colours of the scene. The water was almost completely still that day. These waters are also extremely shallow (off course depending on the tide), and on our trip to some nearby islands I don't think the water depth surpassed 1,5 metres. In other words, I could have walked instead of sailed ;-)
---
The waters surrounding Bantayan island are - luckily for the inhabitants - abundant in fish. The men of most households will go fishing, at least once in a while and thereby get food as well as some cash for the fish they sell in Bantayan city and Cebu. Considering the rather undeveloped local economy, this is an important contribution to the households.

Hi Henrik,
Congratulations on a natural and simple photo (the way I like them).
Timing was perfect with the two sailors in the same position.
Nice information on the note.
Regards,
Kurioso

Hey Henrik,
The boats represent a good contrast to the monochromatic feel of the rest of the photo. Pretty minimalistic, but likable.
Best regards.
