An elevated view of the Queen City of the South, as seen from Cebu Plaza Hotel in the mid 1990s… Today the Cebu City skyline has changed a lot!

A very simple daily life shot ! very good luminosity, great setting, and saturated colors. I think the definition can be improved a little bit. great composition as well.
Vesela (959) 2005-11-21 9:41
I like the perspective here very much.
Maybe the picture is not sharp enough but its good anyway.

A good overview of Cebu City. You've captured the harsh tropical light & strong lighting contrast very well. Superb color & sharpness. Good work!
Marlis (2298) 2005-11-22 5:53
very nice view from a great POV- you captures the tropical atmosphere- I like the red roof, an eyecatching spot of color.
AnneFrance (921) 2005-11-22 7:07
oh, very nice, all these white spots and then our eyes are focusing on this red roof......just great!

Hola Pablo otra vez

Hi Pablo! hey, this is a good pic, I love the red roof, it's so full of joy... and hope:)) it's the salt and pepper of this landscape:)
thanks for all, my friend!

Pablo, good POV from the high ground. The sea in the distance is good as it shows what Cebu is all about, majestic seascapes. The variuos types of housing, bigger homes and the squatters in the valley. This is a vibrant city well known for the musical talent homegrown here and many of whom go abroad to bring colour in the form of great music to all of us. Well done. I love to visit this place.

A good POV of the city of Cebu, the photo is sharp and clear. It has a good perspective and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Nice quiet place, as seen from the photo. Thogh your words that it has changed may disapoint an old peace-lover... You have chosen the best pov, probably. And you have managed the film scan perfectly. Can you remember the brand of the films you were using at that time?
plimrn (21344) 2006-09-20 10:08
I imagine the skyline HAS changed; it's nice you've captured this quieter view with the nearly empty street winding past the red-roofed building. The two stories seem to stand out in the photo as really big. The palm trees give a good tropical reference.
I see you've been enjoying Danillio's series of the Phillines. I expect especially as winter approaches, you think about that tropical warmth.

This is a cosy and spectacular city photo! Its an excellent and successful POV. Fascinating view and glittering atmosphere. Ample and interesting details. This is an expressive and effective shot! Thank you, nice days
Angshu (52890) 2006-11-14 22:41
The high POV creates this very nice shot...the red colour of the roof catches all the attention. The road with the curve balances the compo. IMHO & as our eyes roam over the rooftops, we have the sea in the horizon. Good one from a scan
cepekdong (3676) 2007-04-09 10:09
the phillipines must be very nice ! i have never been there, but who knows one day
gunbud (34066) 2007-04-20 0:04
Great view of this wonderful tropical city as it spreads its wings towards the gleeming sea. I can image how much more crowded it is today with some many rural people being forced to move to the big cities.
riclopes (35567) 2007-05-13 11:29
Olá Pablo, I guess that this is a scanned one. Wonderful view from this vantage POV. I like the dynamism that the winding road gives to the composition. Great depth and nice saturated colors. That roof is 'burning' in red and making a strong appealing contrast.
clic (12467) 2007-06-13 14:34
Thanks for this hang-gliding view over the city!
You've been lucky; there's no haze, and therefore extended landscape can be
Cebu looks "aerated" by much greenery and nature parks.
That winding road adds interest to composition.
UlfE (14136) 2007-08-13 22:57
I happened to see this old picture of yours and I really enjoy to see that you were very fond of the inclusion of some red or redish colour already more than ten years ago Very nice with the red roof as an eye catcher and the winding road seen from a high POV.
noborders (1010) 2007-09-14 10:07
I guess that this is a scanned photo, and it is interesting to see old views from a place that develops rapidly... Great POV !

- Splendid PoV on the city, I like this scanned picture for the memory, thanks for the sharing and congratulations for the scan.

Stort perspektiv her landsby av små hus som taper på horisonten. Veldig fin dybde og farger.
foozi (7101) 2008-12-02 3:47
you will get red roof anywhere in the world. That makes a good focus point and a contrasting subject to the overall shot.
Excellent point of view of the city.
Nicely composed cityscape.
Amaz (11475) 2009-07-25 2:59
Nice and colorful this perspective, Pablo!!
Excellent comostion and good POV!!!
belido (19934) 2009-09-01 9:12
Cebu...that's a place I would like to visit but there was no chance in my staying in that country. The point of view is just great. It brings a wide view of the town, including part of the ocean. The road together with the red roof house work well as the elements in the foreground. Very good job!
jmdias (48351) 2009-11-25 6:36
interesting view of this city, we can enjoy lots of details. I liked the sharpness and the light too. this red roof is so strong and it is curious inside the compo
serp2000 (33133) 2011-09-15 20:11
Good scanned photo, this is very exotic country for the most europeans. But I hope to visit Philippines sometime too. Simple but an interesting photo for your memories, I think.
