Photographer’s Note
In Mindanao, the usual reaction of Muslims to the Military is one of hate and sarcasm. And it usually is felt vice versa by the military towards Muslims. The deep seated wounds of war have distanced both parties. And this shot, taken in PeaceTech affords for a rare opportunity of a smile. Peace may still be elusive, but as human beings, smiling to each other can help bridge that distance.
