Photographer’s Note

When I traveled to the PI last year I foud it very different than I expected, and this shot was one of the first I too while there. For some reason the heat and humidity came as a surprise and the poverty just took me aback. I was also flabergasted to fine thd people so friendly and helpful, nothing was as I had thought it would be.

This shot was jst after an afternoon rain storm and there was almost a cloud of dampness that you could see. Nothing however slowed in the slightest for any of this, the market just kept up with the same hstle and bustle as before the shower.

I am sure there is much more to the PI than I saw. Our guide showed us the "entertainment" districts of Angeles and Subic. I think the country side would have been much more to my tastes.

It would take at least another trip to see what it is really like.

Hi Greg,
Wonderful strong bright colors to this busy marketplace. I like the bit of humid steam left of from the storm because it gives a bit of mystery to this fine image.

Hi Greg!

Beautiful daily life scene, and colourful market, something pretty usual in the countries of Southeast Asia. Seing your photo reminded me of the hundreds of cables I saw in Thailand, Indonesia etc. Great composition, too! Congratulations!

Seems like you capture a typical sidewalk market here!
I notice there are many different activities going on, even if this is not as crowded as it usually is...
Good documentary photograph... I did a workshop, mostly for the fun of it!
