Photographer’s Note
Holy week is observed seriously in the Philippines and it all comes to a crescendo on Good Friday. My friend and I went out on our own on Good Friday to capture some of the activities. We saw many boys and men carrying crosses and reenacting the events of 2,000 years ago. This group of observers seemed to be having more fun than what I assume is supposed to be happening during this observance of Christ's last moments, but whenever I pulled my camera out during my 2.5 years in the Philippines, the smiles came out too. I get the feeling from this shot that the boy carrying the cross was wearing a serious smile under the cloth covering his face. We will never know, but his friends sure seemed to be having fun.
People also love to pose for pictures in the Philippines which makees it tough to get a natural shot. I didn't mind in the boys flying into the shot though, it made for a good story.

Hello. This is very interesting photo. Cross in the midle of your picture create something like three separate images. Good composition with two boys and subscription "Maria" on the wall. Nice quality and cought moment. I like three kind of blue here- something on the head, two t-shirt's. Good work. I'm wondering: why is 182 views and even one comment ??? strange ??? don't you think? good luck
