[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Aside from the rugged coastline, one of the major attractions in Batanes are its grazing hills. This was taken on the hills of Mahatao, Batan island (also called Marlboro Country due to the place's similarity to the Marlboro ads scenes). Used an infrared filter, and the 160 sec exposure resulted to the streaking clouds. The rock which was covered with crawling plants was used as a foreground, with its direction pointing up to the clouds.

Hi Alford
The infrared really created another dimension here, just like winter.
The long exposition work wonder on the clouds.
Which lens did you use.

Good work

Hi Alford,
The long exposure really get a dramatic impact on the light, i wonder if you use stack ND grad filter in this shot. Awesome.

Hello Alforf. Excellent composition at 10mmFL exposing to 160 seconds. The clod seems like rushing up from the ground. The ambiance and glow are captured perfectly with stunning fg sharpness. Well done and thanks for sharing. Best regards. Jusni

at first glance i thought for a second Batanes must be snowing in May...:-)
smart experimental "creation" with the long exposure creating that petal-like cloud stretch. i am not sure if the BG looked grainy tho.

Hi Alford:

This one is like you took it from the Swiss Alps. Very dramatic! Nice job.
