digging my 2005 Philippine visit file, i found this and 2 other fotos i think worth-sharing. what i like foremost about Banaue is the climate- cool and breezy with daily dusk and dawn foggy mountains like this one, the opposite from the one we get in the south, Zamboanga City, my hometown.

taken from the verandah of Philippine Department of Tourism-owned, the Banaue Hotel and Youth Hostel that is embraced by centuries old awe-inspiring terraces, situated 4,000 feet above sea level.

Banaue is one destination visitors should consider when visiting the Philippines. It is ideal for nature lovers and adventurous tourists.

Nice POV and colors, you can actually see the pathway to the mountains by looking at the how the houses are aligned.

Gratz!

Hi Ben,

at the first look, it really looks like some area of my country. The green nature is pretty similar and the placement of the houses on the hill too. The only thing that differs from what we have here is the architecture on the foreground. The choice for the vertical framing provided a great dof, showing the details of the mentioned architecture and the fog on the top of the hill. It's nice to see your old ones in here. Very good job!

Hi Ben,
Oh yes I do remember this scene from Banaue Hotel. Boy, would I like to be there now. I need to revisit the Cordilleras when I get back. The foggy atmosphere is soothing, there is good sharpness. I stayed up late last Super Tuesday waiting for the primary election returns from your state. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Ben,
I wish the local building council had some foresight to regulate the architecture of the houses so it would blend with the surrounding. As it is the houses actually are an eyesore ... sayang it spoilt the beauty of the place.
I like your vertical layout to emphasize depth. Image and overall contrast is good too. Well composed, Bai. tfs
Cheers,
Renier
