[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the Philippines, some farmers still employ the old and traditional way of using animals (carabaos, ox or cows) to till their fields.

Lately however, many have decided to use mechanical and motorized tools such as the hand tractor shown in the photo. This makes them more efficient and faster in their work, aside from saving the animals from being overworked. The big 4-wheeled tracors are expensive and most farmers can not afford it, so the hand tractor has become the most popular and most reasonably priced replacement.

Here, a farmer is shown using a hand tractor. While he tills the field, his partner throws fertilizers into the soil to make it more "nourishing". At the background are rice seedlings ready to be planted on the fields.

Hi Alford!
It's really hard work. Truely a life. Interesting shot and note. Nice colours and composition. Well done.
Regards,
Aleksander

Hi Alford, A well captured daily life scene. Although it is modernized, using tractor in the field, it is obvious that it is still a hard working in the field. Although it is muddy, the reflections on the field are still showing nicely. A well taken picture with sharpness and depth. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Alford! A very informative note and shot. This is a great shot because we can so clearly see the process you are describing. Despite progress being made it still looks like a lot of work. Well done Alford.

Another good ricefield shot. It must be the ditinct color and its casual treatment.

Hi Alford,
This is another good one in your fine daily life series, with this PoV we seem to be taking part in the action, framing is excellent and I lije the colored touch brought by the red machine in this brown/green environment.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

A natural candid daily life shot. I agree with Jean-Yves, it has much the feel as if we too are standing in the rice field. I particularly like the texture and reflections in the mud.

Hi Alford, nice scene showing a glimpse in the daily life of the farmers. Nice to see the farmer with the tractor in action, I quess that this kind of machines makes the life easier for the farmers. I like the perspective and the composition with the position of the farmer using the fertilizer in the foreground. Well Captured!

Regards, Christian

Very special kind of "tractor" not to be seen around here - but then again won't you find any risefields as well :-)
I like the fine poses you got here and the reflections - a good job Alford - thanks.

Very sharp shot, Alford. The colors are great too. This captures the work being done very well. I especially like the splashes in the mud from the fertilizer and the machine churning through it. It's all very active and really places one in the scene. Nicely captured.

Hi Alford. What a great daily life shot. Very well captured. The colours work well together. You even caught a bit of a reflection. Is it normal to till on ground of such soggy substance? What does the white flag stand for? Great composition. Thanks...
