Photographer’s Note

This is an everyday scene from the rice terraces of Ifugao. A woman with her dog is doing her everyday routine, to watch the rice grains emerge from its stalk... a profound happiness of a farmer.

A fear of drought, a hope for the rain to come. Maybe that's life... whoever, wherever, whatever... it will always be a constant process of pain and relief.

Hi Joscel,
a beautiful geometry and a perfect sharpness... I like the vertical crop as the positioning of the woman on the right.
A good image of a hard, daily life...

I would say a HARD livelihood because those rice paddies are on steep ground and difficult access as we can see in here. It is a beautiful photo with a good vertical option and the lady adds perfectly to the scene giving it scale. Well done.

A very unique POV, Joscel...well seen! You captured the current state of the rice terraces - eroding. Hope the Ifugaos get to fix this problem soon. The human element made this photo more interesting! Hope to go back to Banaue soon and shoot the place again. rgds.

A fine high pov which combined with the vertical framing adding some depth to the scene and good inclusion of the local woman and her dog (When I was in Philippines in the 80's, I do remember, the local people sometimes eating dog).

Hello Joscel,a good close up of the rice terrace.Good to be able to include a figure to give some scale to the scene.
TE is about learning, and this shot shows many of us a scene that we may never encounter in real life.
