Photographer’s Note
the earliest form of preserving fish, which until now is widely used is by sun-drying. sardines abound in the philippines year-round and has been commercialized since, canned or sun-dried. philippine sardines play an important role in philippine culture. canned sardines are popular since it is a healthy yet cheap source of food. zamboanga city is the sardine capital of the philippines.

I like it is different subject, can be disturbing, strong light reflection like always on the 'silver'fishes, well done!, the frame I'm not and addict of this kind, but must say goes perfectly here, due that it looks more like in a shop or box!

I like this because it opens my eyes to a part of the world I have never thought of. How beautifully you've captured the colors, the sheen, the texture here. Not sure about the frame, maybe better with a black instead of white inner line???

Hi Benedict!
A pity, those sardines remind me of the holidays, gone! But only by proxy, since I'm not the one to traffic-jam for hours just to enjoy a few more hours jammed on a beach.
By the way, I don't know in English, but we have a phrase in France: serrés comme des sardines to quote when you're crammed in a narrow room with too much people. It's what occured to me at once when I saw that shot.
Therefore proving it's better than nice PoVs of various but commonplace shots; it's singular through variety here!
Nice, how about the smell? :) regards, F'

Nice subject, colors and frame very good. Maybe one thing, the head of fish at right and at left are cut. What could be the result if you enlarge the frame?

Hola Benedict:

Hi Benedict,
I was browsing your varied gallery when I came across this unusual image. The subject matter is brilliant and I'm dead impressed with the image outwith the frame. Ellie mentioned the colour of the inner frame, black or white, I've put it to WS and for me it's white. Superb image my friend.

Stephen
