Photographer’s Note
www.freerice.com
This photo was stashed away for some time. I personally havent uploaded it because it just does not compare to those of the Rice Terraces. But I thought it is due, especially to help publicise the Free Rice website. every word you get correct on Freerice.com, they donate 10 grains of rice through the United Nations to help prevent World Hunger. The Game is educational, and it is a Win All situation for everyone. A VERY great idea.
Rice IS life. For people all around the world, from the Philippines to Ethiopia.
I really hope you can spare a few minutes to learn and help prevent world hunger. thousands of people die everyday due to hunger. Please think about it.
The Philippines is Also the Headquarters for the worlds first Rice Institute, the International Rice Research Institute. They have taught and helped people in developing nations from the Philippines to Africa and South America. Teaching them how to grow rice in the most productive way etc.. A very good organisation which has given many people the right for Food.
Regarding the Photo here is some Info, repeated from my Other Rice Terraces Photo's (A while back)
Sometimes called the "Eighth Wonder of the World", The Banaue Rice Terraces are 2000-year old terraces that were carved into the mountains of Ifugao in the Philippines by ancestors of the Batad indigenous people. It is commonly thought that the terraces were built with minimal equipment, largely by hand. The terraces are located approximately 1500 meters (5000 feet) above sea level and cover 10,360 square kilometers (about 4000 square miles) of mountainside. They are fed by an ancient irrigation system from the rainforests above the terraces.
The Banaue terraces are part of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, ancient sprawling man-made structures from 2,000 to 6,000 years old. They are found in the provinces of Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province and Ifugao, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I also took this photo on the road, near a small village.
Photo Work:
*Cropping to remove some unwanted features
*Slight Colour Enhancing (due to Overcast weather)
The Weather, as you can see, Was not the Worlds best for Lighting. But I hope you can see the story behind this Upload.
Rice is Life.

Hi Tom,
a stunning view of this marvellous rice terraces! The light is a bit strange and confuse but even this makes this photo attractive. Thanks for the detailed note. It´s important to preserve the life ressources of the locals.

Hey Tom,
I'd like to revisit this next time. And if my knee will hold, hike up to Batad. This is well done. Greetings! Danilo
