Here is a photo of the setting sun's light reflecting off pools of water in rice fields at Banaue (Philippines).
When the jeepney passed this view along the roadside, we had to ask the driver to pull over to shoot the moment, before it quickly passed as the sun dissapeared.
Right time, right place!

Nice piece here, you played the light well, preserving the narrow range of colors, but accenting the golden water against the green background. The smoke adds a nice mysterious feel. i wish that you had been able to include just a touch more foreground in order to keep the nearest pool in the frame, but other than that this is a great piece.

This is a great shot from high ground. First, I actually thought it was from an airplane but then I read your note. Great detail in the terraces and the reflections look really pleasing.

I like the golden reflection you've captured here. And it makes a very beautiful contrast with the green colours.
Beautiful picture, thanks for sharing!

Indeed the golden reflection in the water is perfectly captured here David in the midts of the natural textured green with a pleasant high POV overlooking the valley, well done.

You managed to use the light perfectly here, David.
Sun's reflection on the pools is perfect.
And the tone of the green is just gorgeous.

As you said, sometimes a bit of luck is needed to be at the right moment. But you have well used this luck. The composition is good with the rice field well put in the environement and the village on the top right to give the scale of the scene.
After it is magical with this beautiful light of the sunset playing with the mirrors of the water. I like also the saturation of the green which fit well the scene.
