Photographer’s Note
He is an Ifugao elder.
After playing his flute, he burst into a smile.
He must be proud of himself, as several people were listening intently (including myself) while he was playing his music. I did not think he was good at music at first glance, but I was wrong, he played the song beautifully.
What song did he play? It's "Silent Night", very appropriate for the time then.
He's wearing his native attire - a g-string, hat
and cloth to partially cover his upper body. However, with the cold weather, he had to wear a jacket :)
This is my 3rd post of Banaue (in Ifugao province), its people and the rice terraces.

Hi Alford, this is a very nice protrait of this man, he's got a very catching smile, even if you can't communicate, you can smile with him, I guess. Nice composition.

You capture the smile of the people very well. And this is no exception. Very nice colors, details and clarity. About the framing I think that he is just a bit centered. Maybe zooming out and focusing a bit to the right (if possible) would be very nice as he would still be the main element in the photo but we would also have a great background that would fit him in is environment.

Hi Alford,
I joined much later than this photograph was taken.. but it is better late than never to comment .. i saw the photo on the web page of TE and captured my attention..
I like the innocent smile of this village elder..the sharpness is excellent..and contrasting colors with bright red and fading green at the rice teraces.. on the hill.
Gud wishes to you and regards to all the people of Banaue in Ifugao province..
Peace and cheers,
Paddurags
